From 2nd February 2022, there will be changes to how minimum wage declarations or posted workers declaration as they are also called, will be handled. Only those drivers who are engaged in cabotage or cross trade (Third Country) operations will need to be registered. There will be no further requirement for drivers making straightforward international deliveries/collections to have a declaration, but they will need to be able to prove the work they are doing, and the CMR note will continue to be the best proof of the freight movements being made. The workers declaration can still be valid for 6 months.
The European Commission – Road Transport dept, has now provided access to a ‘training platform’ for haulers to get a feel for how to complete a declaration.
Once you have completed the details for registering – you will need an O licence number, VAT number, company name and address, and contact details of the person setting up the ‘account’.
You then can add driver details. There is also a template that can be downloaded so that you will be able to add multiple drivers in one go, but you must use the template provided.
