Road Haulage

This qualification is offered on behalf of the Department for Transport. You will find it suitable if you wish to enter the profession of road freight transport management or demonstrate your professional competence to meet the Operator Licensing requirements. The qualification includes a range of subjects related to the business of road freight transport management and is assessed covering both national and international topics. The following assessment criteria will apply from 1st June 2021.

For candidates studying for the Skills & Education Group Awards qualification the exam structure comprises of one 2 hour multi-choice exam with 60 questions with a 70% pass mark and one 2¼ hour case study exam with between 6 and 8 questions with a 50% pass mark. Both exams can contain questions from most areas of the syllabus.

For candidates studying for the Chartered Institute for Logistics & Transport qualification the exam structure comprises of one 2 hour multi-format response (multiple choice, inputting missing information and indicating answers on a diagram if relevant) exam with 40 questions requiring a 70% pass mark and one 2¼ hour case study exam with 3 case study questions with a total of 20 marks available for each which will require a 50% pass mark. Both exams can contain questions from most areas of the syllabus.
